The regional planning of C. Valenciana in terms of transport and logistics foresees the development in the coming years of various logistics and logistics-intermodal nodes.
On the other hand, the new rail access to the port of Sagunto will improve the current port connection, also providing it with mixed gauge, increasing its capacity and increasing the operational efficiency of rail-port traffic.
Currently, the growing interest of intermodal operators to implement new railway motorway services with origin/destination in the Valencian Community, with the peninsular center and with Europe (Mediterranean Corridor), which will significantly allow the capture of new rail freight traffic.
In this context, the need arises to create an Intermodal Platform in Sagunto, with the commitment of the Port Authority of Valencia and its participation through Valencia Intermodal Platform and Logistics.
Said transport and logistics infrastructure is expected to be located on a 675,000 m2 plot within the delimited area of the Special Plan for the Management of the Sagunto Logistics Area, (PE) definitively approved on December 2, 2022, by the Generalitat Valenciana.
